Every great teacher has a first year—and every first-year teacher has a story worth celebrating.
The Georgia Department of Education invites you to nominate an outstanding first-year educator for a Teach in the Peach: First-Year Teacher Spotlight visit with State School Superintendent Richard Woods. Throughout the start of the school year, Superintendent Woods will visit selected teachers across Georgia to learn about their journey into the profession, thank them for choosing to teach in our state, and highlight the many pathways that lead to a rewarding career in education. Nominations are welcome from teachers themselves, as well as principals, colleagues, district leaders, students, families, and community members.
Selected visits will showcase educators from diverse backgrounds, certification pathways, grade levels, subject areas, and communities across Georgia. While not every nomination can be selected, we appreciate your help in recognizing the educators who are making a difference from the very beginning of their careers.
